An iron orb of captured moments is a small iron sphere, usually three to five inches in diameter. The surface of the orb is etched with pictographs. If there are no scenes contained within the orb then it will be have a smooth surface, each location it contains will be etched on the surface of the orb.

It is said that those who carry this gemstone can navigate underdark caves and passages just as well as they can move through a crowded chamber full of conspiring drow nobles. This device is a purple garnet cut into the shape of a sphere with thin mithral wire woven around it in the pattern of a never ending spider web.

These scroll cases were once carried by a majority of the powerful nobles and wealthy drow however as the centuries pass since the fall of the drow house of Teniseyt they have become exceedingly rare and expensive to acquire. Just the sight of one being used could start a fight amongst those who wish to claim or at the very least an assassin’s blade knowing how valuable a prize it would be.
